HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

A French-American businessman originally built it in the late 1990s. He had visited his homeland, seen a château in central France that his ancestors built, fell in love with it, and decided to recreate it in California. You are in that château now.
Intricate marble works of fireplaces were designed and manufactured in Italy, pieces were flown to California along with the Italian masters, who then installed them here. The closets were built by world renown British furniture maker Clive Christian as the first installment in Western America.
The list goes on and on. Add to all this the fact that most local contractors unscrupulously overcharged and underperformed. Consequently, the French-American businessman ended up overspending his wealth and eventually had to sell it.

An American businessman bought it and also invested a lot of money in it. He bought the three tract houses to the south of the building, razed them to the ground, and expanded the lot size to the current 3 acres. He also added the massive pool with spa, grotto, water slide, several ponds, and water features—though most of them were incomplete. He, too, went bankrupt, was also victimized by dishonest contractors, and had to sell the house.

Ergun and Juliana bought it in 2010 and rebuilt the house to its current grandeur. They put in the entire walnut wood flooring inside and travertine from Türkiye on the grounds outside throughout the property, extensive wrought iron works with tulip design, rebuilt the pool, repainted the entire property, and filled it with antique furniture and artwork. That project is still in progress.
